Looking to find out what type of Supercharger to add to my 2000 Mustang GT convertible. I only have 29,000 original miles on it and I am looking to give it some extra kick.

Can’t go wrong with a Roush Supercharger

It depends , If you want one that sits where your intake is or you want one that mounts on the front of the engine. A roots type is the first type . They are dependable but have rotor vane issues as you put on miles ,The edges of the rotors wear slightly and you might have to rebuild it more often, but they are putting Teflon rotor seals on the vanes now. The other type bolts to the front of your engine and is runs like your alternator. the Paxton has been used on production cars the Corvair Monza ,Avanti, and works well. they are cheaper to buy and maintain. the choice is yours they both work great..

A roots style blower like the Saleen, Roush, or Kenne Bell units will provide more low-end torque. The centrifugal units (Vortech, Procharger) make more power at higher rpm. I would want the power down low so I’d probably look into the Kenne Bell kits ( ). sells a Mongoose Kit with a Vortech for the mod-motored mustangs. A turbo or twin turbos could be another option for you although they’re more expensive. Check out or for HP Power Systems. However, they make insane amounts of power. Your budget will play a large factor in what kind of kit you get, make sure you’ve got at least 500 left for a good tune and any misc parts you may need to support the blower.
